Rating the fashion PR

By Mevlut Katik

Spring/Summer 2008 London Fashion Week is now behind us.  Much was written about the designers and their collections. It surely was yet another very exciting week for the capital city and the fashion industry.

However, those who create and bring us these thrilling event are often overlooked. The Londonperspectives kept a close eye on public relations agencies who promoted their respective designers and their creative collection during the S/S 08 Fashion Week. In the final analysis, it is them who promote and make necessary arrangements for individual shows and collections. Therefore, much depends on their organisational and interpersonal skills as well as work discipline and ethics.

in this regard, one singles out among the PR agencies that took role during the S/S 08 LFW. It is "Blow PR".  Blow PR not only showed a highly disciplined and skillful organisational approach, but also emerged as probably the most friendly PR. Given the arrogance and cold reception displayed many PR agencies and their staff, the latter point was and is particularly important to hopefully set a precedent. Blow's down-to-earth approach with plenty of smiling faces amongst its staff merits admiration and applause.  Given the pressure of keeping to deadlines and of a hectic backstage, it is noteworthy to be able to maintain such a friendly approach. This was not only evident in Blow's approach to the press members, but also in kindly treating those who were there to see the shows.

Blow has also emerged as the best supporter and organiser of the off schedule shows. It surely lends support to new generation and other upcoming young designers with a rich schedule.

Blow has also one of the best and most dynamic websites, whih is very useful and fun to browse.

It is hoped that the agency will maintain the same approach. The Londonperspectives will scrutinise and rate the PR agencies during the Autumn/Winter 08 London Fashion Week and share it with you on our site.
